April 26th - 28th , 2007 This was the first stop on my four-day, three-city trip that was a whirlwind of activity. It was pretty tiring, but also pretty exhilarating because I got to speak to so many people in such a short period of time. April 26th, 2007 First Baptist Church of Paducah, Paducah, Kentucky First, I flew to Nashville and someone was kind enough to pick me up and drive me to Paducah, Kentucky two hours away. Because I am on a deadline, trying to finish something for the preparatory discussion guide, I ended up working the whole way. I was hardly able to talk with the woman who was kind enough to drive me. The event that night was at Paducah, at the First Baptist Church of Paducah, and it was just a wonderful suite. It was a women’s night out, Spring Fling kind of event and it was just a lot of fun. 600 women came, paid $20 each to come and hear this discussion and I was just amazed that so many women would ...

Today was a very interesting event! Almost a year ago, Mary Frances Bowley had invited me to be a part of a major event to introduce the work of Wellspring to the women of Atlanta. Wellspring was going to put on a big stadium event at the Georgia Dome that would really encourage women to step out and take a risk to do those things they felt they were being called to do by God. This event had quite a few well known speakers, and I was honored to be invited to be one of the people on the platform. I shared my story of how I came to be an author, and how I felt so strongly that I was supposed to write a book on a particular subject. I once felt certain that there was absolutely no way that I could ever accomplish getting published, yet I felt like I was being urged to just start something in the midst of my doubts and see that God would get the glory for His hand in my endeavors. I have told the story before, and what happened is I was i ...

Easter Sunday, in the afternoon, I flew with my column counterpart, Diane Glass, to Kansas City, Missouri where the headquarters of our press syndicate is located. As many of you know, in addition to the books that I write, I also write a weekly opinion column that appears in somewhere around 50 papers nationwide. It’s actually not just me writing it. It is a debate column where I take a perspective that tends to come from the conservative, safe based Christian world view and debate a subject with my column counterpart Diane who comes at life from a liberal, feminist, agnostic world view. People always ask “What is she like?.” And I always say the same thing, “We get along great.” In person and we have to, because we’re business partners, because we’re syndicated in this debate column together by Universal Press Syndicate for five years, so we better work well together. < ...

Today my co-author on “For Young Women Only” Lisa Rice and I flew to Dallas, Texas to tape the popular television show ‘LIFE Today’ with James Robison and his wife Betty Robison. This is a wonderful couple that is fulfilling a very important process and I’m always delighted to be invited on their show to share the latest message that I’ve worked so hard to research and investigate to communicate to people. The thing that always strikes me so much about being with James and Betty Robison is that they are doing things after God’s own heart. They are not just the founders of an incredibly successful, Christian television program. They are also the founders of an organization called ‘LIFE Outreach International’ that enlists the many millions of viewers of their television program to go meet the needs of some of the most needy people around the globe ...

This entry wouldn’t usually be found in my travel blog, but it was a big day for me and my co-author Lisa Rice. Today we turned in the final edit on our upcoming book …“For Parents Only - Getting Inside the Head of Your Kid”. We are absolutely thrilled that we have finally met the deadline amidst all the travel craziness. We think this book is going to end up being very eye opening for parents to help them understand the things that they just cannot forget about their kid. We have been working on the book and the research behind it for over a year and I hope and pray that it will touch parents in much the same way that “For Women Only’ and “For Men Only” have touched thousands to understand the key surprises about each other. So, if you listen closely you can hear a big woohoo! from Atlanta as the sound of me and Lisa celebrating that the book is done.
