Okay, so Saturday I got to the airport in Bangor, Maine to catch a flight connecting me to my next event, a Pastoral interview on Sunday morning at West Side Christian Church worship services in Springfield, Illinois. The idea was that I was going to catch a flight to Detroit, connect through Detroit and catch another flight to Saint Louis, and then a sweet couple in the Church were going to pick me up in Saint Louis, and drive the one-and-a-half hours to the hotel in Springfield. It was going to be a bit of a long trip, and it would get me in to Saint Louis around 10:00 pm, which would get me in to Springfield, Illinois pretty close to midnight, and that would be 1:00 in the morning my time, but that was the only option to be able to make the Church Services.Well, it didn’t go as planned because of unfortunately, I hate to say it, but just some sheer lack of skill by the airport staff in Bangor. This weekend was an incredibly special one for me. I was invited by Denise, who is the President of Spring Hill Camp to come share at this weekend women’s retreat. Spring Hill Camp is normally children’s camp with about 10,000 kids in the summer, but twice a year, on two weekends a year, they open it up for women’s retreat. Honestly I was expecting a little retreat center, maybe a few rustic cabins Instead, it is this massive kids camp with adventure courses, zip wires, kickball arenas, horseback riding and just about everything you can imagine that would make a kids camp a delight - and of course that made it pretty delightful for the women as well. But, one of the things that I found so special was that so many of the women this weekend really were so open to hear what I was trying to convey.In fact, the morning after the first session, where I covered the subject of respect and how secretly ...
