My family spent the weekend camping in the beautiful Tennessee mountains, because it was halfway to Nashville where I was invited to speak on Monday at the GMA Week. This is the week every year where the Gospel Music Association and all the Christian broadcasters come together to have their annual convention. In the exhibit hall they have presentations on developing their business as broadcasters and get to hear new bands and old ones and generally reconnect.
So it is a lot like the big week in July of every year where the Christian publishing industry comes together. I was expecting to feel somewhat at home, even though I had never been to a GMA Convention before. But I was surprised. It was full of energy and vigor and interest, but wow, is it different from the Christian publishing industry. In the publishing world, you have lots of people in business suits and dresses and people in their 30s, 40s and 50s, who have been a presence ...
