The whole family and our new nanny hopped an airplane for Houston Friday, and did we have a fun weekend! Clear Lake Presbyterian church had a couples event and Jeff and I got a chance to share Friday and Saturday. We did more of the brain science stuff Friday night, as I’d been thinking about, and that was well-received then as well. It makes such a difference once you know WHY someone is doing something the way they are.

I did not know what a gorgeous state Arkansas is. I had a long set of meetings in Little Rock with Family Life to discuss the new Bible Study for women that I’m helping them create. And then drove 4 hours across the state to Fayetteville for a speaking engagement. I was in awe of the beauty and majesty of the area – the highways run through the most awesome mountains, with bridges crossing gorges that drop like cliffs 500 feet down, going through a long tunnel straight through a mountain.

This was a crazy day: speaking in Atlanta in the morning, racing to the airport and speaking with Jeff in Wichita at night. It started off with a bang!

Read one parent's story about her son's venture with Freedom!
Our story began when our son Thomas wanted to do a missions trip and we let him. The first year was great, he came back so inspired. The second year, something inside, said, don't let him go...

Well, the travel season is beginning again, and it started off with a bang at Mountain Christian Church, a mega church about 45 minutes away from Baltimore. Very pretty area, and some terrific people. Plus, it was a delight for me to be able to start off with my favorite format – the Sunday morning pastoral interview, in front of two services totaling 4,000 people.

Well, I was delighted to get to the airport for my first trip of the travel season and discover that Atlanta is a CLEAR location – I can get a background check and bypass most of the security lines now! (that is assuming that my fingerprints and retina scan don’t turn up anything I’m not expecting! Any frequent traveler will understand the depth of my excitement when I saw that CLEAR booth at the Atlanta airport today.

Today was a treat. A whirlwind, but a treat. I flew to Dallas, met with some delightful leaders from Gateway Church about possibly doing a business-women’s event for them next year, then met with the folks at Decision Analyst who have conducted all the surveys for my books, then ran back to the hotel, hastily changed clothes, and headed off to the Life Today studio for a show with James and Betty Robison. Each one of those things would have been a highlight of my trip, but all three at once were a gift!

Today was a tiring but exhilarating trip. On July 3rd and 4th, yesterday and today, I had a 30-hour, quick turnaround trip to the Los Angeles area to be interviewed on TBN. The guest host for the night was Kirk Cameron, the actor who grew up on the television show ‘Growing Pains’ and has since moved into quite a few movies with a faith based message. I was really looking forward to meeting him.
