After a busy summer of writing and rewriting we finally filmed the new Women's Bible Study with Family Life.  Check out the cool set at a loft apartment in a rennovated flour mill.

As mentioned in a previous blog entry, I get asked questions that refer to information from my books.  But I also get the "just wanted to know" type questions too!  Second question:  What is God teaching you lately?

As trite as this may sound, my answer is truly relaxing and letting go of my ability to control everything.  That includes letting go of worrying about how I'm going to meet all my dealines when there aren't enough hours in the day!

Last month, I was asked to speak at the Abstinence Clearing House National Conference in Puerto Rico.  My family and I decided to tag on a vacation and I was also able to take some of my staff  to help during the conference and give them some much needed relaxation and fun time.  I have included some photos from the trip!

Sometimes I get asked questions that refer to information in my books.  But I also get the "just wanted to know" type questions too!  Over the next few weeks I'm going to answer some of those questions here on my blog.  First question:  What books do you like to read?

It’s the day after historic elections. We elected Barack Obama as our 44th President of the United States, and it’s historic in many ways to have elected our first African-American President. A fairly young man. A man who is incredibly intelligent, works hard, and achieved the American dream. As a conservative columnist, I spent a lot of time and energy in the run-up to the election, stating all the reasons why I thought that he was not ready to be President and why we should elect somebody else, but now that he has been elected I feel a strong need to call each of us to unity in support of our government, even if we disagree with the policies that our new President may put forward.

The whole family and our new nanny hopped an airplane for Houston Friday, and did we have a fun weekend!  Clear Lake Presbyterian church had a couples event and Jeff and I got a chance to share Friday and Saturday.  We did more of the brain science stuff Friday night, as I’d been thinking about, and that was well-received then as well.  It makes such a difference once you know WHY someone is doing something the way they are.

I did not know what a gorgeous state Arkansas is.  I had a long set of meetings in Little Rock with Family Life to discuss the new Bible Study for women that I’m helping them create.   And then drove 4 hours across the state to Fayetteville for a speaking engagement.  I was in awe of the beauty and majesty of the area – the highways run through the most awesome mountains, with bridges crossing gorges that drop like cliffs 500 feet down, going through a long tunnel straight through a mountain.
