People always ask me, how do you handle being gone so much, especially when you have young children? Let me tell you- it can be really tough. I miss those little peanuts when I’m gone, however I don’t always have to miss them. In fact this trip to Cincinnati was a treat for me, because I was able to bring my daughter with me on a little mother-daughter trip.

I had a busy engagement at this church on a Sunday morning. The Pastor was interviewing me on stage in front of a congregation on both For Women Only and For Men Only. Whenever I can do Sunday mornings like that, I will love it because I get to bring my daughter with me. She is in grade school and it’s just such a precious time to be able to have that opportunity, which I know so many parents never get, to be able to go on a trip with just one of their kids and have a special bonding time. This event itself was wonderful; the church is expanding and has bought a golf course that they are going to be building on. It was a fun family day. They had a big picnic afterwards, which was fun because often we’ll go out to lunch or something and that’s great but this is a big, fun, family festival picnic that my daughter and I took great delight in joining in.

Some of the pictures on this page are of my little girl with me, as a little traveler with her green froggy bag, which everybody loves and I think it’s the cutest thing in the world; and another picture of her doing hula-hoops, which you can see we had a really fun day together. So, this was a treat of a weekend for me. I realized how critical it is, everyone says, “To treasure this time when they’re this small because it is so sweet and it goes so fast,” and we have found that to be absolutely true but I am so grateful that I am able to treasure it. I really feel like what I am doing now, with the flexibility even though I have to be gone a lot, I am so incredibly grateful that I don’t have to be in an office 9 to 5 and I can do things like take my kids or even the whole family on trips with me.
