This was a three-day trip that had some terrific highs and some terrific lows. On the highs, my husband and I traveled on Thursday to Colorado Springs and I started some meetings and interviews for the next book that I’m going to write. It is a corporate version of ‘For Women Only’, and I think it will be really helpful to a lot of women who by not understanding how men think, sometimes sabotage their careers without realizing it because of how they interact and treat the men that they work with.

So, I’m starting the research on this and I’m really excited about this one. The next day, Friday morning, Jeff and I had an absolutely fantastic time. The reason we were out there was because we were invited sometime ago to speak at Focus on the Family’s monthly chapel service. August was marriage month for Focus on the Family. They had invited Jeff and I to come speak to all 1200 employees and 300 major donors for ‘Focus’ who were in town, and that is an incredible feeling to be able to stand up and encourage the staff members and donors of an organization that we respect so much. They work so hard in so many different areas of our culture, both in marriage, in family, in training, in helping the poor, and public policy. They do so much that I really value and it was a delight to be able to encourage them from the stage and share some things that I thought might be helpful to them.

Jeff and I really enjoyed very much, and then that evening I flew to Chicago alone, and Jeff flew back home in time to watch the end of High School Musical 2 with our two children. They had been bouncing up and down waiting for that day like young children everywhere.
