Well, the travel season is beginning again, and it started off with a bang at Mountain Christian Church, a mega church about 45 minutes away from Baltimore.  Very pretty area, and some terrific people.  Plus, it was a delight for me to be able to start off with my favorite format – the Sunday morning pastoral interview, in front of two services totaling 4,000 people.  This was the latest pastor to do the “Pure Sex” series, and invite me in to contribute one Sunday to the discussion of what women need to know about men, in building intimacy.  (Not just physical, but understanding each other.)  This was such a warm congregation, and I was reduced to tears at the end of each service when all the men – and then the women – in the congregation stood up to applaud at the end of each service.
I sat there on my stool, opposite the pastor (Ben, who is a great guy), and couldn’t speak.  It always touches my heart SO MUCH to see this outpouring of emotion from men who are overwhelmed to realize that they can be understood, and jump to their feet to show their appreciation.  It just kills me to see, by implication, how LITTLE they feel understood and how much pent up desire there is to have the woman in their life be able to finally know what is really in their heart.  What a privilege that I get to do this.

Re: Joppa, MD

Shaunti,
I am moved to hear of your experience at Mountain Christian Church. In just a few weeks you'll be here with us at Family Christian Center, Munster, IN. I've been married for over 20 years and stand in great aniticipation of recieving the wisdom God has given you.

I love my husband dearly. We have endured some very, very difficult times together. The best is yet to come.

Pam
