Since 2006, every week I had the privilege of engaging in a controversial battle of the minds as a right-leaning columnist, sparring with Andrea Sarvady, a left-leaning colleague. This weekly opinion column was printed in fifty plus newspapers around the country, including the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Detroit Free Press, the Seattle Times, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and many others in every corner of the country. However, due to the economic downturn and the difficulties in the newspaper industry that caused the failure of one hundred newspapers, we are regretfully having to say good-bye to the column.
Over time I will look for opportunities to share my commentary, my public policy background and my perspective on women's issues in the press. But for now, for those of you who have been readers for the past six years, Andy and I want to say thank you and continue to support the power of respectful dialogue.
Although Andy and I disagree on almost every issue in print, we get along well personally as business partners. It's a good example of how even those who vehemently disagree can choose to develop a good, civil and even friendly way of working together.
