Posted By wjr1991 on 08/28/2008 5:08 PM Arielyu, that's a question I could only answer if I were the drummer... and since I'm a guitarist, I suspect I'm not him. I honestly would have to know more about how he's acting, and such. I think someone said earlier elsewhere (it might have been me, but it's been a while, so I've forgotten) the only way you can know for sure a guy "likes" you is that he asks you out more than once. So, sorry I couldn't be more definitive... if you want to say more about it, I might be able to give you my read on it... but that's about it. hey wjr1991, here's the whole story (sorry if it's a tad long, haha):
I've known the drummer from my band for 11 months now. Ever since the first
time we jammed, we've been going home together because we both live in
the east (I live in a small country). but we lived
at least 20 mins away from each other. he always drops off at my train
station with me instead of his own station, which was 2 stops away and
he would have to take one bus home from my station.
but i wonder
why he does that even until now that he has moved further away from me.
his most convenient train station is now 3 stops away and he now has to
change 2 buses from my station. but i've decided that it's because he
is looking out for me because we are brother and sister in Christ. but
a girl can't help but wonder, can she?? he's a really decent Christian
guy who's firm in his faith, down-to-earth and very optimistic and
lively.
On
another day I was showing my bandmates the pics I took of them with my
cell phone cos we were blowing bubblegum and having alot of fun. We
were sitting in a circle and I brought the phone to his face the last.
Then he basically just took my hand (that was holding the cell) and
held it for more than 10 seconds. He could've just taken the phone like
he usually does but he just took my entire hand & held it.
And
I realize that he now dares to touch my arm instead of slightly tapping
on it like he did before when he wants to talk to me.
When we
exchange eye contact, it seems like he does want to look into my eyes
but he's afraid of doing so and yet he does. When he does look at me,
it seems like he's trying to guess what I'm thinking about. It seems
like we both know there's something going on but yet we don't talk
about it. There's a certain awkwardness in the air. And we look away
from each other's eyes after that.
And he calls me "sis", like sister-in-Christ, and I can't help but be affected when he calls me by this particular word.
Recently
his mother had to undergo an operation and when i sent him a verse to
bless his mom via a text message and asked him to relay it to her, he
did so and his mom said thanks and that it was sweet of me to do so.
my grandmother also passed away recently and in our text message exchanges, he said things like "don't worry just share with God your concerns.. He'll comfort you, stay strong, girl!!" Plus, he is aware if i am unhappy. i guess he's observant?
What do all these mean? Is it possible that he does like me?
If so, why doesn't he ever call me or text me out of the blue?
one thing though, i'm a year older than he is and i think he's aware of that.
I've
prayed about this issue so many times and the prayer that I make to God
everytime is that if it is His will, that everything will become
beautiful in His timing and that no matter what, we would have a
beautiful friendship that will last a long time. And so far, God's been
really good cos the two of us have grown closer as really good friends,
brother and sister in Christ, who look out for each other. but i wish
somehow that it will go further. but then again, i'm putting it all into God's hands.

That's much more to go on, thank you. (I suppose it reveals how rural a place I've grown up in, in that it took me hours to figure out how 3 stations could be 20 minutes from each other...) Yeah, one change I'd do for a girl friend of mine, whether or not I "liked" her, definitely... that's kinda what I'd expect from a guy who's like that... and the kind of guy I want to be. Although the two changes thing would seem like he was either really really protective/concerned for his friends, or would make one wonder. And yes, the cell phone thing is something I'd say was an indicator towards his "liking" you. Again, with the eyes, if he's not usually slightly awkward like that, that seems like he does. The "sis" bit and his mother I'd say are more comments on you than him... and his comforting you when your grandmother passed on is what I'd think any good friend would do... (I'm sorry for you too- I have one grandmother left, and I don't really want to lose her... so yeah, I kinda know that) So, out of those bits I wouldn't draw much, and ditto with the observant part- some people are really good at that, some aren't (and some wish they were- like me) So, all said, I think it's quite possible that he does- but I wouldn't bank a lot on my opinion. So yeah. It's possible. I have no clue why he doesn't... it could be anything from his knowing you're a year older to his not wanting to mess you up emotionally. I know either one can make me awkward around girls if either I think they're attractive, or if I think they might think I am. I think you're on the right track there- you seem to have a good friendship... I'd say hang on to it until you're ready and convinced that he's really the guy for you... because if he's not, it's going to test the strength of your friendship, and it's going to have to be rock solid to take it. The other thing is that God's hands are where it belongs... I know what wanting it to go further's like, but I can also say from experience that if you move too fast you'll weaken the friendship you had in the first place. Hope that helps! |

Most of the nearly two billion children in the developing world have inadequate access to dinosaurs. Some receive no paleontology training at all. One in three has never even seen a dinosaur in person.
OVPC is an organization providing a means to an end - an end that sees children in even the most remote regions of the globe being given the motivation and adrenaline to tap into their own potential, identify with the survival needs of a global dinosaur-driven culture, and to contribute to a paleontological world community.

I used to have the same insecurities you do, and I still do, but I've learned that outward appearance is just outward, but inner beauty is true beauty. Easier said than done. So here's my advice : whenever you feel ugly or depressed or whatever, think about what God's said in the Bible about you. He says you are good because you are His creation. He says you are created in His image, which means you're next to perfect. He says He loves you as you are. He doesn't want you to change. He says you're beautiful just the way He made you. You can look in the Bible to find verses that say all that. But anyway, no matter what you look like, God knows you're beautiful. He made you beautiful. So let go of all these ugly doubts and focus on being secure in God. If this guy is the one for you, or if you think he is, pray. Ask God to take away all of your insecure feelings of ugliness and to replace them with peace. You are how you are. Don't ever change for a guy.God made you you. Good luck with the guy - try to keep this friendship up. Don't get swept up in him too fast. If he's Mr.Right, God will tell you. Good luck, beautiful. -Maddiegirl- |

God has renewed my mind quite a lot about my beauty. and i totally agree that inward beauty is true beauty.
but I'm not too sure about Him not wanting me to change for the better because I know that God does want me to change for the better, to really help my body return to what He created it to be and He knows that with His help, we can do it together. I'm no longer as insecure as I used to be about my physical appearance but I know that God still wants to work in me in this area and I thank Him for the community that I am in because they often encourage me and love me for who I am. do check out this link to Boundless, a christian webzine - it will open up your eyes, http://www.boundless.org/2005/answers/a0001400.cfm

o.k. Im writing this on here so that I dont make another topic... but i might if I get no reply's on this one... So yeah... I have been put in charge of organising a youth camp for my youth group and a few other local youth groups. My dad, the youth leader, was discussing wether we should get a guest speaker, only prob is, our youth group has no money and the others dont either... (we are too busy fundraising for the new years christian camp and "Parachute" which is a BIG christian music festival held over 4 days. apparently it's the biggest music festival held outside of the states...) anyway... My host sister from last year was on tour with Excel Ministry's School Of Performing Arts so I thought Id get her to come and speak about what tour was like and how God worked in her life. then i thought Id need a guy speaker too, and, well, I thought about the guy from Y-one. you know, the one I talked about on here. This is what Im asking... By me telling you that, what immediate thoughts do you have. Honestly, and i mean truelly honestly, I'd be inviting him firstly so that he can speak about going on tour with Y-one and how God worked in his life, so the guys can relate to his speech and the girls to my host sister's speech. I do admit, though, that I am asking him and not one of the other Y-one guys, because I want to get to know him more. The only other Y-one guy Id ask lives even further away, and its akward asking a guy to come that far when we've only known each other for a little while, especially cuz he has a gf, and I hate doing anything which might make guy friends girlfriends freakout... that's just the way I am. What do you think about me asking him? Honestly, id like to know just so I can see how others are going to see the situation. if I do ask him to come up. Thanks I really appreciate it! |

Jojo... I'm kinda drawing a blank as to your questions... and which ones still are relevant... Anyway, I'd say it should be fine to ask him to come speak- although he might still feel embarrassed/ashamed about being in Y-one (not because he did anything, but from it disbanding, or from being associated with it, or something like that) so yeah- if he does get back to you with a hesitation, you could note that you won't mention Y-one... |

Well to answer your question will, the last post and this one: "yeah... at the moment, I havent talked to him in a while, but there is a youth for Christ ball coming up and I was thinking of asking him to go with me as a friend... Im not sure if I should or how I would if I did decide to do it. Of corse I wouldnt ask him like as soon as I get in touch with him (seeing as we havent talked in a month) but I think it would be a great way to get to know each other better... What do you guys think??" are the one's still relevant... Thats good to know, yeah, im still not sure how he feels about y-one disbanding... I have asked his friend from Y-one if he's heard from him and hopefully Ill be able to tell whats up. so yeah |

i'd say that if God wants you to be together, He'll make that happen.I'd syggest u give it all to Him and just wait for his guidance. Good luck.
and about your palate - God made you like that. He knows your beautiful just the way you are, and if this is the guy for you, he won't care so much about your appearance. it's what's in your heart that counts. and you are beautiful - don't let anyone convince you otherwise.you are you - and you're beautiful and special.
good luck, beautiful.

Hey, here's some quick advice from my heart: first, if God wants you to be together, He'll make that happen no matter what you do or don't do. second, if he's for you, he'll care more about the inside than the outside. try to be friends with him for now, and see yourself as you are: beautiful. God knows you are beautiful as you are. You don't need to make any changes. You are you, and he should love you no matter what you look like. Good luck, beautiful. (-: |
